AGC presents Solar Glass and Chemicals Solutions at EU PVSEC 2011
AGC presented its glass and chemical products for solar applications at the 26th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. This year, the focus was on AGC's new glass offer for glass/glass or lightweight PV panels, and also high performance ETFE film for front and back sheets.
Glass empowering Solar Efficiency of PV panels
Keen to continue "Empowering Solar Efficiency", AGC Solar will showcase DragontrailTM, a brand new glass solution for lightweight PV modules. DragontrailTM is an exceptionally strong and highly scratch-resistant chemically tempered glass allowing for thinner PV cover (typically 2mm or less). It is the solution for glass/glass or lightweight PV panels.
For photovoltaic crystalline, Solite Plus extra-clear patterned cover glass with SPARC anti-reflective coating will be on display. This coating offers high solar transmission which allows an increase in the energy output of the PV panels by up to 5%, which is equivalent to gaining two extra weeks of sun each year.
For photovoltaic thin film (silicon and CdTe), AGC will showcase its TCO (Transparent Conductive Oxide) coated glass line which has been designed to meet the wide range of customer requirements in terms of performance and dimensions.
For Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), visitors will see SunEwat, the crystalline Si modules for facade and roof applications. They are custom-built in terms of dimension, design and number of cells required to ensure their perfect integration into each architectural project.
Fluon® ETFE FILM (Fluon® ETFE foil) is a high-performance film made from AGC's own ETFE resin
Due to its exceptional durability, transparency and light-transmitting properties, Fluon® ETFE film is used in a wide range of applications. The film is used for back and front sheets in solar panels, as a mold release film for electronic components, and also as a construction material in commercial greenhouses, stadiums and other building projects where architects require the specialised functionality and high performance that ETFE provides.
Benefits:
- Heat & Chemical Resistance
- Durability
- Transparency
Applications:
- Solar Panels
- Roofing & architectural façades
- Mold release film
- Electronics
- Interior design/surface finishes
Fluon® ETFE film has been used in many famous architectural constructions such as the Allianz Arena in Munich where the 2012 UEFA Champions League finals will be held.
Fluon® ETFE film is used in both back and front sheet systems on solar panels.
